Environmental control specifications, starting with RoHS-REACH

In Europe, chemical substance regulations are strict, with various environmental control specifications such as the RoHS directive and REACH regulations in effect.

At present, there are six substances regulated by RoHS. REACH includes a list of 38 different "Substances of Very High Concern" which are targeted for control, and the list is expected to grow to thousands of substances in the future.

Some chemical substances cannot be sold in various countries, so care must be taken.
